{"id":958,"date":"2015-04-16T20:03:32","date_gmt":"2015-04-16T20:03:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kinetics.co.nz\/?p=958"},"modified":"2015-04-16T20:03:32","modified_gmt":"2015-04-16T20:03:32","slug":"introducing-office-remote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.kinetics.co.nz\/?p=958","title":{"rendered":"Introducing Office Remote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some of the best cool tools sneak out under the radar, and Microsoft Office Remote is one.\u00a0 It&#8217;s fantastic!\u00a0\u00a0 It lets you run presentations remotely from your phone.<a href=\"http:\/\/kinetics.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/OfficeRemote.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-959 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/kinetics.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/OfficeRemote-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"OfficeRemote\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 Yes, we know there have always been tools like this around, but Office Remote is better &#8211; it fits right inside Office and works seamlessly &#8211; we love it!<\/p>\n<p>The kicker is, you need Office 2013 or Office Preview 2016.\u00a0 Of course, all our client&#8217;s using Office 365 can smile, because they always have the latest version of Office!<\/p>\n<p>You install <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=41149&amp;fa43d42b-25b5-4a42-fe9b-1634f450f5ee=True\">Office Remote here\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0and it&#8217;ll add\u00a0a taskbar into Office.\u00a0 Then you connect your phone to your PC with Bluetooth (yes, the boardroom PCs may need a Bluetooth dongle added) and you&#8217;ll need to install Office Remote from the store &#8211; (<a href=\"http:\/\/click.office-watch.com\/t\/2763836\/93434197\/5633\/13\/\">here&#8217;s the link to the Android version<\/a>) or use the taskbar icon to take you to the Windows Phone version.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it! Done!\u00a0 When you open the app on your phone, you&#8217;ll see a list of files open on your PC that you can control.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kinetics.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/OfficeRemote1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-960 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/kinetics.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/OfficeRemote1.jpg\" alt=\"OfficeRemote1\" width=\"658\" height=\"382\" \/><\/a>I&#8217;ve tested in against Excel and Powerpoint.\u00a0 In Excel, I could switch tabs, open slicers etc and manipulate our dashboards &#8211; pretty useful for those team meetings where we review performance!<\/p>\n<p>Then in PowerPoint, all the regular timers are available, you can move between slides, read your speaker notes and have a virtual laser pointer.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s all just too easy!
