It&#8217;s excellent to use in print advertising or signs to allow viewers to jump to the web to get more information. A common use might be menus in food service, and under Covid, we\u2019ve seen an increase in mid-market restaurants simply putting a QR code on the table so you can download their menu or even place your order.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_2,1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.16.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;]<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Unfortunately, QR codes are a great way for hackers to redirect you to infected or bad websites.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>The FBI say:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Check the QR code before scanning it.<\/strong>\u00a0Make sure it hasn\u2019t been altered and isn\u2019t on a sticker that\u2019s been placed over the original code.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Avoid using a third-party QR scanner.<\/strong> Your phone camera should be adequate and it is safer than\u00a0 an app that might be compromised.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t install an app based on a QR code.<\/strong> Always use the app store that comes with your phone for finding and installing apps.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If you receive a QR code via email, don&#8217;t use it unless it\u2019s from someone you know.<\/strong> Even then, contact the sender directly to verify they sent it to you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Double check the URL<\/strong> that a QR code sends you to before taking any other action on that website.
