Who still uses Microsoft Edge?<\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/b><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s a point of pride among many users to immediately swap out their default web browser on Windows from Edge to something else.\u00a0\u00a0 To be fair, that\u2019s because Microsoft\u2019s past browsers have fallen behind the marketplace \u2013 other browsers are faster and more compatible with more websites.\u00a0 In fact, we found some of the various support and admin websites of Microsoft themselves work better with different browsers!<\/div>\n

Still, a lot of us are simply too busy to think about it.\u00a0 We stick with Edge, the default web browser in Windows, simply because it is there.\u00a0 There is good news then – in the latest updates, Microsoft have changed the \u201cengine\u201d in Microsoft to the Chromium engine \u2013 the same one under the skin of .. you guessed it .. Chrome.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
That\u2019s going to make for a faster internet experience that works on more sites.\u00a0 So, now that you can stick with Edge, the question becomes \u2013 how can you adapt it to make it \u2018just right\u2019?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Here\u2019s a three quick suggestions:<\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Set up your default start pages<\/b><\/h3>\n
The standard Microsoft one of the news stories is a bit of a distraction.\u00a0 Instead, jump straight to the pages you use the most often.\u00a0 That will save you time by reducing mouse clicks, but more importantly, stopping you from being distracted by the MSN click-bait.<\/div>\n
For many of us, we want to go straight to a particular SharePoint site on our intranet, or a web tool we use every day.\u00a0 You can setup a small number of tabs, ready to go, for whenever you open Edge.<\/div>\n
Simply click on the ellipsis (the \u2018\u2026\u2019) on the right hand side of the menu bar, then pick setup, and set the option to open specific pages.<\/div>\n

Tip : gather the URLs on a separate doc first so that you can easily cut-and-paste them into Edge.<\/em><\/div>\n

Add a Home Button<\/strong><\/b><\/h3>\n
After you use Edge for a bit, you\u2019ll inevitably move around pages and jump around the \u2018net.\u00a0 Occasionally then, you\u2019ll want to go back to the start.<\/div>\n
Again, as above, open the settings.\u00a0\u00a0 Now, scroll down and switch \u201cshow the button\u201d to\u00a0 \u2018Yes\u2019.\u00a0 Now, you will also need to specify the page it goes to, so you\u2019ll also need to set that as shown to the right.<\/div>\n

Set up Favourites<\/strong><\/b><\/h3>\n

While you are setting these shortcuts,\u00a0 you\u2019ll be trying to think of how many tabs to set up.<\/div>\n
Tip : Don\u2019t have too many tabs open at once \u2013 they use memory up and can slow your machine down.<\/em><\/div>\n

Use favourites for the sites you use often.\u00a0 Again, open the settings, and switch the favorites bar on.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Now you can use the\u00a0 star simple to save favourite sites and star with the horizontal lines to bring the list up<\/div>\n
