Last week, these little pieces of ill-intentioned mischief popped up for a couple of the businesses we look after.<\/p>\n

They were smart enough to evade anti-spam software but not the cyber-training.\u00a0 Although the emails look legitimate, they weren\u2019t expected and seem very unusual in these workplaces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is easy to see how a busy person might think they were legitimate and click on the links.\u00a0 \u00a0We\u2019re proud of our clients who were aware of the risks and alert to the dangers.\u00a0 As sophisticated as security technologies are, the threat actors are constantly evolving (especially with the use of AI) and end users are a last line of defence against these attacks.\u00a0 Blocking domains and updating rules is something that we can do after the fact.\u00a0 DNS filters and website behaviour analysis are all great tools to help provide a backstop, but the best protection is people who are alert and cautious.\u00a0<\/p>\n
